Learn how you can benefit from the industry-leading warranty of Big Dipper and Trapzilla, which is backed by over 40 years of quality product manufacturing experience by Thermaco. When you invest in a Big Dipper or Trapzilla grease interceptor, you can have peace of mind that you have purchased a durable and reliable piece of equipment for your business.

Thermaco believes that the standard warranty period provided by a manufacturer reflects the level of confidence they have in the long-term performance and dependability of their product. The Big Dipper standard warranty covers any mechanical or material defect for three years from the date of purchase for the entire product range. In addition, both Big Dipper and Trapzilla tanks are covered by a 99-year limited lifetime warranty, ensuring that any repair costs due to issues with the machine during that time will be borne by Thermaco.

Thermaco works with their team of skilled partners to promptly carry out any necessary repairs, with minimal impact on your business. Thermaco understands that the success of their business is linked to the success of your business.

If you are unsure whether your Big Dipper or Trapzilla product is still covered by their comprehensive product warranty, Adam Nightingale, Regional Sales Manager for Aqua Mundus, can provide details about the warranty policy and why it is considered the best in the industry.

Adam Nightingale, the Regional Sales Manager for Aqua Mundus, shared his insights with us about the Big Dipper and Trapzilla warranty policy, and why he considers it to be the best in the industry.

The warranty for Big Dipper and Trapzilla offers three years of coverage for mechanicals and a limited lifetime warranty for tanks. This exceeds the industry standard of one to two years, providing an additional year of protection from unexpected repair costs. To make the repair process easier, customers can contact Aqua Mundus to arrange a service call directly through them.

Adam Nightingale explained, "I've previously worked for other grease contractors, and I know that some of their customers had to jump through hoops to meet certain requirements for a callout. This can be a real headache for operators, particularly if their grease trap fails at a critical time, and they need a quick repair. That's why I chose to work with Aqua Mundus - we offer a unique level of service that sets us apart from the competition. We make it easy for operators to get in touch with us and arrange a service callout quickly and efficiently. For us, it's all about providing top-notch customer service."

"We're proud to highlight the quality and dependability of our product through our extended warranty coverage. Some manufacturers may provide only two years of coverage for an additional fee, but with us, peace of mind is included in the package.

We do recommend that the product is regularly serviced and maintained, as is the case with any manufacturer, and in return, we promise minimal expenses and reduced downtime."

Checking your warranty

To check the remaining warranty cover for your product, simply locate the serial number, which is typically located behind the grease collector, and give us a call.

Working together

As a company, we understand the critical role that dependable grease management plays in the smooth operation of any food-based business. Without it, even a momentary disruption can cause significant problems.

That's why we employ our own team of engineers, backed up by technical experts, to get you back to business as soon as possible. All of our engineers are rigorously screened, approved, and trained directly by us on our products, ensuring their ability to complete the work to a high standard.

Adam further explained, "Our policy is for our engineers to carry common repair parts on their van. Our goal is to achieve a 'first-time fix,' which is most beneficial to our customers and helps them get up and running quickly. We know that every second counts."

Cost saving

In today's economic climate, we understand that energy bills are a significant concern for commercial operators. We've been making an effort to educate the industry on the operating costs associated with running commercial grease trap equipment. Rather than solely considering the acquisition price, we urge customers to focus on the product's lifetime operating and maintenance costs, which can be upwards of a decade for high-quality equipment.

When factoring in the "lifetime cost," repair expenses also need to be taken into account. According to Adam, "If a pump or heating element fails, it can cost around £300+vat for replacement, and another £240+vat for the labour to fit it. So, that’s roughly £540+vat for one call out. With most grease traps, if this happens after 12-24 months of ownership, that bill is coming directly to you."

In the current climate, parts are becoming more expensive, and labour costs are on the rise. When considering the value of an additional year or two of coverage that comes standard with Big Dipper, compared to many other grease trap products on the market, it is essential to keep in mind the "lifetime cost."

Replace or Repair?

We believe that treating grease traps as easily replaceable assets is not a financially sound or environmentally responsible approach. This is why we offer a three-year warranty for Big Dipper, to emphasize that they are built to last and designed for high repairability.

Adam has witnessed the regret of those who have chosen cheaper options. They have only considered the upfront costs, and as a result, have incurred huge energy bills. After a couple of years, repair bills start to accumulate, and eventually, they had to give up and buy a replacement because repairs were costing too much.

Adam advises operators to think beyond the purchase price and consider the lowest overall cost of owning a grease trap. This includes its operating cost, potential downtime if it breaks down, and the cost of repairs. It is not surprising that many operators get caught out by the budget refrigeration products in the market. Thus, we encourage customers to do their homework, talk to us, and ensure they purchase the right refrigeration solution for the success of their business.

To help customers make informed decisions, our energy cost calculator estimates the electrical (kilowatt-hours) savings that can be achieved by choosing one of our energy-efficient grease traps compared to our competitors.
